Chapter 10
Ash was laying by the stream that had saved their lives from the fire all those years ago. She always came there when she was upset or angry. Whenever she went there she would always mutter under her breath and talk to herself like she was having an argument with someone. "Why am I still here? I mean no one cares for me anymore I mean, I'm not even the "alpha pup" anymore!" Ash stopped mumbling all of a sudden and her head shot straight up. "I'm not the alpha pup anymore! how in the heck did that happen and how come I haven't done anything about it yet? man my head has been in the clouds lately. But challenging Star would be ridicules, I mean seriously what am I supposed to say, just walk up to her and say "Ok, I want my place back as alpha pup" or "I want to challenge you again for the rank as alpha pup." I mean seriously it's so stupid because I know I'm stronger then her because she only got the rank because she snuck up behind me and pinned me and that's cheating! ugh, I'm gonna go mad if I keep on mumbling to myself like this." Ash let her head drop to the ground but instead of hitting soft grass it hit icy cold water. "GAH!" Ash shrieked as she brought her head up and out of the water quickly and jumped to her feet. She tried to shake the water out of her fur but she was still soaking wet. She hung her head and walked slowly towards the edge of the forest. "Why don't I just leave now?" Ash mumbled to herself as she sat down at the edge of the trees, beyond that was a huge meadow that belonged to the strongest pack she and her family had come across. "I would right now and right here, but what if the pack gets me?" Ash worried. "No time to think about that, 'm just going to go, right now." With that she stood up and started across the border line into unknown territory.

Star stared in dismay as her sister started across without them and what she had said. She was about to run out and stop her, but she realized that would be a mistake, stopping Ash from doing something when she's upset or angry, is not a good idea, so instead she trotted out to her to join her by her side. Ash stopped and spat out a few phrases to her but she just stood there listening to her sister rant away until she finally started off again at a sprint and she followed, leaving both her beloved little sisters behind.
